A Sangria You Can’t Get Anywhere Else

I’m going to tease you with a recipe for sangria that you can’t make for yourself? How is that? Because it uses homemade wine and while you might be able to approximate it with commercial wine, it just isn’t going to be the same. And my spiced syrup was made by the seat of my pants so I couldn’t even tell you how to make it!

Ancient Fire Sangria
1 bottle 2008 Pear wine
1 bottle 2008 Wildberry Shiraz wine
½ bottle 2009 Petit Verdot wine
½ bottle 2010 Chilean Syrah wine
1 canister frozen Passion Fruit juice mix
¼ cup Cointreau
¼ cup VSOP brandy
¼ cup spiced simple syrup
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced

Mix all the wet ingredients together and add the fruit slices. Allow to steep in the fridge for at least a few hours, if not overnight. Serve cold. Repeat at will!

Sorry for the tease, but hopefully the recipe gives folks an idea for their weekend entertainment.

Cheers!

Jason
